High Grade Nightingale

I wanted to get this kit because of how wild it looked. It’s also a large HG model which I really like. Because of its HG simplicity I wanted to up the detail level. So I added plastic plating cut from polystyrene sheets, called pla-plate, to give it a bit more surface definition. I also tried scribing for the first time. Which is where you use a very small chisel to cut lines into the parts of kits to give them more detail. Another first for me was doing candy coating, which is done by spraying black, then silver, then clear color in several coats till you reach the desired effect. With all the curves on this kit I wanted to do a hot rod looking color so orange was my pick. I picked up a Kosmos LED lighting kit for it as well. This build was so fun because of the paint and LED lighting.

This kit was sanded, scribed, pin viced, painted, candy coated, custom decaled, and gloss top coated on the candy parts.

Here it is with the lighting effect.
