Perfect Grade RX-78-2

This was the second Gunpla model kit I built. What initially got me interested in doing this hobby was a video posted by Adam Savage where he built this kit with a few friends. I was amazed by the complexity of the model and the building experience as a whole. So, Jackie got me one for Christmas in 2022. Simply put, if I wasn’t on board after building the Red Frame Astray, the PGU convinced me that this hobby was for me.

The level of detail, scale, and building process was so satisfying. I also wanted to do something special with this kit and bought some custom water slide decals for it. I hadn’t done a water slide decal since I was very young. I have distinct memories of building a model car with my dad and dipping decals in a cup and applying them to the model. Building this kit and and using the same methods that hadn’t changed in all of those years was a trip down memory lane for sure.

This being my second build, when I was finished I tried to take some more dynamic pictures. Experimenting with lighting and angles. I found the kitchen counter top to have the warmest light in the house.
